Pritish Nandy Communications & Daily Multimedia Ltd’s Fatso all set for a May 4th Worldwire Release!

They say that matches are made in heaven. This is one of those films where they are undone in heaven!

PNC and DML come together to bring you Fatso, a slice of life rib-tickling comedy that takes a foray into the idea of identity. Directed by Rajat Kapoor of Raghu Romeo, Mixed Doubles and Mithya fame, Fatso starring Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, Purab Kohli, Neil Bhoopalam and Gunjan Bakshi takes audiences through an accidental incident that leads to Purab Kohli and the 300 pound protagonist, played by Ranvir Shorey, exchanging lives between heaven and earth.

Hysterical, intelligent, honest, Fatso is all about love packaged with a calorie count!

Talking about the film, director Rajat Kapoor says “This script has been with me for about three years and I have always felt that this might be the most commercial film that I have done so far. Once in a while you get tickled by an idea that has the potential to be liked by a huge number of people. I believe, Fatso has that potential.”

The out and out comedy is already the subject of heated discussions overseas, having traveled to several international festivals including the South Asian International Film Festival in New York, Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles and Shanghai International Film Festival amongst many others. The film was chosen as a recipient of the prestigious Golden Palm Award at the Mexico International Film Festival.

“Fatso is a fantastic film and it’s a great pleasure for us to have made it our Centerpiece Premiere at the Festival”, said Galen Rosenthal, Director of the New York South Asian Film Festival.

Pritish Nandy, Chairman PNC and producer of the film says, “Fatso is funny, romantic, magical. Rajat Kapoor is at his finest as a director, in the charming tradition of Raghu Romeo, Mixed Doubles and Mithya. Comedies rarely make it to top rung international film festivals”.

Fatso is a delightful take on love, life, romance and the occasional accident of death and it arrives at a theatre near you on May 4th, 2012.
