PNC’s Saluun will receive the prestigious Golden Ace Award at the 2010 Las Vegas Film Festival. This film was among the best of over 1,000 films submitted from over 30 countries around the world. The festival will take place June 4th – 6th, 2010 at the Las Vegas Hilton Hotel Casino Resort.
PNC has been invited to accept the award in person at the Closing Night Awards Ceremony to be held Sunday, June 5, 2010 in Las Vegas. The festival co-director James Mulidore says, “Only a maximum of 20 films in each competitive category were chosen to be honored with this prestigious recognition and PNC’s Saluun is one of them. Our judges felt that Saluun demonstrated superior and standout filmmaking and is deserving of special recognition.”
Directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat, Saluun is based on a true incident in a remote village in India and is a simple narrative about hope and magic. Says Bhat, “It’s an honor for me to be receiving this award. Saluun is very close to my heart and I’d like to thank the Las Vegas festival jury for recognizing the effort that has gone into making this film.”
Says Pritish Nandy, Chairman PNC, “Saluun chucks formula out of the window, casts fresh talent, reaches out of the multiplex format to rediscover a brave new cinema that can reach out to people anywhere and touch their hearts with love, humour, hope. This is, perhaps, why the Las Vegas International Film Festival has chosen to recognize this film with a special award among thousands of other entries.”
