PNC’s Fatso has been chosen as a recipient of the prestigious Golden Palm Award at the 2010 Mexico International Film Festival. More than 20 films in each competition category were chosen to be recognized with this esteemed honor and PNC’s Fatso is one of them. The festival will take place May 21-23, 2010 at the Baja Coast in Rosarito, Mexico.
Joe Coury, Festival Director says, “Our judges felt that PNC’s Fatso demonstrated excellent and outstanding filmmaking and is deserving of special recognition. The film was among the very best submitted from over several dozen countries around the world.”
Fatso is an out and out smart comedy, with a spectacular cast, which includes Ranvir Shorey, Gul Panag, Purab Kohli.
PNC has been invited to accept the award at the closing award ceremony which will take place on 23rd May 2010. Pritish Nandy, Chairman PNC and producer of the film says, “Fatso is funny, romantic, magical. Rajat Kapoor is at his finest as a director, in the charming tradition of Raghu Romeo, Mixed Doubles and Mithya. Comedies rarely make it to top rung international film festivals.”
Fatso is all about love packaged in with a calorie count! They say that matches are made in heaven. This is one of those films where they are undone in heaven! But then again, that’s the strange thing about love: just when the worst has happened, the best happens almost like the nightmare never took place, almost like love is undeniable, almost like love and hope are two faces of the same coin. The movie has music by Sagar Desai and directed by Rajat Kapoor.
